Among the nation's more famous cities, Las Vegas' reputation may conceal the variety that can be found in its neighborhoods. Prospective residents should consider the alternatives available to them and study what the city's different areas have to offer. While they do not account for the entire city by any means, Las Vegas has a number of communities catering to specific populations.
For example, retirees may choose between Siena or a variety of other
neighborhoods, many located in Sun City, and find areas with housing and amenities suited to them. These parts of the city and surrounding area may feature homes of varying sizes and styles, pleasant views of the city and scenery, dedicated recreational facilities and other amenities.
Centennial Hills
Located within Centennial Village, Centennial Hills is in northwest Las Vegas, and features a combination of small single-family homes and larger properties constructed by various builders. Because it is not located in the center of the city, residents can expect a slower pace than they might otherwise, while remaining nearby enough to easily access the many urban attractions.
There are nearby venues for hiking, fishing, picnics, skiing, sledding and other recreational activities, depending on the season. Shopping, dining and entertainment destinations are all within easy reach and downtown Las Vegas remains easy to travel to and easier to look at.
Queensridge
A gated luxury community, Queensridge is relatively new and has many townhouses and single-family homes, as well as more expensive custom residences. European architecture is fairly typical, as are landscaped parks and common areas. Many of the developments in this area feature fitness and sports facilities.
Downtown Las Vegas
According to U.S. News, the Downtown area of Las Vegas is often overlooked by visitors, but remains the home of some of the oldest landmarks in the city and the location of cultural sites, such as concert venues and museums. City officials have worked to develop small businesses, restaurants, and local arts and culture in this area. Its relatively central location means the city's many attractions are easily reached by residents.
These three neighborhoods represent only a small part of the variety Las Vegas has to offer, so any serious home buyers should research in considerable depth to decide where they want their new home to be.
